Starbucks, Remembered

New, 4 comments

This morning's news that one of Astor Place's two Starbucks locations is closing tomorrow?forever?has yielded an Eater oral history of the Third Avenue 'Bucks. Says architecture writer Alec Appelbaum: "The concrete ramp and the little nook of tables behind the bathroom made it less like a typical plop-in Starbucks and more like a little medieval city." Adds VNY: "This is a dream come true." Observes Mike from Queens: "Well, there's another one right there." Meanwhile, can you name the previous java-serving tenant in the space? The answer is a click away. [Eater]
