The New York City Housing Authority has decided to channel its inner co-op board and impose some strict regulations on residents' pets. Starting Friday, banned dog breeds at city housing projects include pit bulls, Rottweilers and Doberman pinschers. Said City Councilman Peter Vallone, "Finally someone is realizing that these potentially dangerous animals have no place in a confined urban space." People who already own the breeds can keep the dogs if they're registered. The ASPCA and others are already working to ease the restrictions. [NYDN]
