This week's top dish from Eater, Curbed's restaurant, bar, and nightlife blog...
1) Park Slope/LES: As restaurants continue to close, the signage announcing said closures is going increasingly off the rails. Above, a reproach to the neighborhood from Park Slope's deceased Delicious on the Slope. And on the Lower East Side, the landlord that evicted Allen Street's Fried Dumpling is damned to hell.
2) NYC: Speaking of closures, Eater tallies up all the March restaurant deaths. The grim final tally: 27 down for the count.
3) Park Slope: Back in the Slope, an Eater columnist enjoys a beer at the ever-overlooked Smith's Tavern. Color: "Most remarkable is the huge colored frieze behind the bar of an 18th-century gentleman of sorts, in pantaloons and stockings, sitting in his cellar enjoying a flagon of liquor and a long pipe. What it all means, who can tell. Nobody gave it a glance besides me."
