Collapsed Building's Suddenly Outdated Hotel Plans Revealed

This morning's partial building collapse in Tribeca will not doubt slightly affect the property's planned conversion to a luxury boutique hotel, designs of which now appear on the website of architecture firm ODA. The project is listed on the site as the Chambers Street Hotel and is made up of the collapsed structure?with addresses of 69 Reade Street and 87 Chambers Street (UPDATE: The Times says it was the 71 Reade Street portion of the project that collapsed)?and its similar looking neighbor. The buildings are in the Tribeca South Historic District, and ODA goes to great pains in describing how the firm is honoring and enhancing the 1856 buildings' cast-iron architectural history. Guess they can put aside the history books for now.
