The Times' endangered City section filed a Brooklyn gentrification twofer over the weekend, including this look at Fort Greene by a self-described "artsy, graying black man of 51." He writes: "Once the aura of danger left Fort Greene, its many charms could no longer be hidden. When Corcoran opened a real estate office on Lafayette Avenue several years ago, it was clear to me that my Fort Greene was history." And on a lighter note, Steven Kurutz wades into the "macho Italian-American" stronghold of Carroll Gardens to uncover the neighborhood's burgeoning gay bar scene. Care for some go-go on your pizza?
