Steve Cuozzo updates us on the years-long fight at 220 Central Park South, where developers Vornado and Clarrett Group have been trying to empty the 22-story building of rent-stabilized tenants in order to raze the structure and build a glassy 41-story apartment tower. The developers just scored a key victory, courtesy of the state's Appellate Division?the same panel that sided with stabilized tenants in the Stuy Town lawsuit. Landlords can deny lease renewals to stabilized tenants if the building is set to be demolished and certain requirements are met. The tenants, some of whom reportedly turned down million-dollar buyout offers, may try to appeal. [NYPost, previously]
