Dumbo Rezoning Spat

New, 4 comments

The long-expected rezoning of a 10-block portion of Dumbo?meant to encourage residential development while limiting building heights?just hit a minor speed bump. The Brooklyn Paper reports that Community Board 2 rejected the city's plan in a fairly tight vote, because some members felt the 12-story height limit is still too tall (recent neighborhood additions include the 31-story J Condo and 18-story Beacon Tower). The CB's vote is only advisory, and the plan heads to the borough president next. [BK Paper, previously]
