Royal's Island

Governors Island, quietly going about its business in relative obscurity the past few summers while occasionally flirting with death by budget cuts, is about to find itself in the world's spotlight. England's Prince Harry will be making a two-day stop in NYC on May 29th and 30th to dedicate a garden, pay his respects at ground zero and, oh, play polo at the military base turned summertime day-trip spot. He'll compete in Governors Island's second annual Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic, which will no doubt have a lot more screaming tweens than the first annual Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic.
