NYU has been accused of acting like a real estate conglomerate rather than an educational institution over the years, and this bit of news might not change that impression: To ease a space crunch that has left 90 Greenwich Village kids on a kindergarten waiting list, the school has offered the city classroom and office space on Mercer St.?for lease, that is. NYU's John Sexton said the school has "considerable space pressures of its own," but will work out a deal even if it means "N.Y.U. will have to relocate residential spaces and a blood donation facility and find alternative space for a planned university project."
