LONG ISLAND?!?Is it strange for a new Long Island development to be put up posters on the gritty city streets? Some tipsters think so. Says one: "In monitoring the demo and subsequent standstill on the SE corner of 24th and Park, I noticed an opportunistic developer has posted signs for, get this, a development in Nassau County, Long Island. Looks like someone is mining the spring selling (read looking) season in NYC." Adds another form earlier this week: "I was walking on 2nd Avenue today when I saw this poster on the corner of 32nd street. The NYC / Long Island Developer responsible for Chatham 44 on 44th & 10th is trying to lure Manhattenites out to its project on Long Island. Interesting concept, no? For $400 / SF, I might just consider it!!" Chatham of North Hills, congrats. You have won the attention of Curbed Nation. [CurbedWire Inbox]
UPPER EAST SIDE?What's new at the crazy cantilevering bit of glassy madness known as East 85th Street's Georgica? Says a tipster of the under-construction building: "She reminds me of a woman I dated who loved to dress in size 6 outfits, but was a size 8." Okey dokey. He sent along a visual aid.
