Lower Manhattan needed to get rid of them. Tribeca didn't want them. The East Side suffered because of them. And now, the commuter buses in need of parking have finally found a home?in Chelsea! Don't expect Tribeca-like levels of outrage from the latest neighborhood to get stuck with the buses. The Downtown Express reports that they're headed for the nowheresville of Ninth Avenue and 30th Street, to a lot already used for bus parking. Has our long national nightmare finally come to an end? Yes and no. While work can now get underway beneath the F.D.R. Drive on the East River Waterfront esplanade, there are still another 30 buses that will soon need relocating. Staten Island, we're looking at you.
