The Observer's Eliot Brown reports that two blasts from the past?Related's Hudson Yards megaproject and Jean Nouvel's Tower Verre skyscraper next to MoMA (right)?have been approved to begin the seven-month public-approval process (ULURP in da house!). Don't get too excited just yet: "Financing is, of course, in short supply, casting doubt on the immediate viability of such projects. But developers can reap great long-term benefits from getting rezonings now, as they clear the way for quicker construction starts when the market returns." [NYO]
