Thanks For the Ad

In both the East Village and Carroll Gardens (and other less-blogged-about neighborhoods, we're sure), the hand-painted Target ads that were all the rage when they went up about a month ago have now been painted over, and their absence may be a more jarring presence than their, uh, presence. The new minimalist rectangle art clashes a bit with that brick wall on Hicks Street. [Lost City; EV Grieve]
