Schrager Preps for Reign on Bond, Seeks $12.5M for Leftovers

New, 6 comments

Style Svengali Ian Schrager said he'd sell his duplex penthouse at Soho celeb magnet 285 Lafayette once his penthouse at 40 Bond was ready, and folks, the man sticks to his word. The build-out of his new Noho crow's-nest got into the swing of things back in the latter stages of '08, and as work on the 8,500-square-foot pad in the Herzog & de Meuron-designed building that Schrager himself developed nears the finish line, the Post's Jennifer Gould Keil reports that his old place is hitting the market with an ask of $12.5 million. A Brown Harris Stevens listing for the 3,630sf 4BR is already up, criminally without a photo or floorplan yet to be seen (UPDATE: They're up! See after the jump.). Luckily we still have the brokerbabble:

Perfect for entertaining, the grandly scaled living area features soaring 23' ceilings, 360-degree views from double-hung windows, wood-burning fireplace, open Boffi kitchen with appliances by Viking and Sub-Zero, media room/fourth bedroom, and two private terraces. Two bedrooms with en-suite baths complete the lower level. The upper level comprises the master suite with private terrace, skylit private gym outfitted with Cybex equipment, and two walk-in closets. The master bedroom opens to a double-height window bay overlooking the prewar building's new addition.Schrager's selling his private gym, eh? No wonder Natasha vent looking vor vork.
