As we mentioned on the Curbed TwitterWire (what, you're not following us on Twitter?) last week, the north side of the Bowery at East 4th Street was a parking lot for cement trucks waiting to dump their contents on the gargantuan pit that will be 2 Cooper Square. Now, big news from the edge of Noho: the 15-story luxury rental building, formally announced way back in January '08, is now visible from street-level after climbing over the ad-wrapped plywood that has ringed the site for a very long time. Back in April there was no sign of such progress, but finally we have proof that the Bowery Hotel's spiritual bretheren (in looks, anyway) is indeed on the way.
