Though the MTA and the Related Companies won't even sign a deal on developing the West Side Rail Yards until at least January, and construction probably won't begin on the first phase of the $15 billion collection of commercial and residential skyscrapers mixed with park space until, say, 2013 or so, the public-review process to rezone the western half of the 26-acre site is now underway (the eastern half is already taken care of). The Observer's Eliot Brown snagged some new renderings and designs of Related's Hudson Yards plan, and has compiled them in this nifty slideshow. We stole the ones we liked best. Scroll through the gallery above and then head to the area south of the Javits Center in about a decade to see how it all shook out.
