Greenpoint Park Makes a Much-Delayed Waterfront Debut

New, 3 comments

For nearly two years a small and nearly complete waterfront park at the northern terminus of Manhattan Avenue has sat just beyond some wooden gates and "No Trespassing" signs, like a pristine Greenpoint mirage. No longer! Last week the Brooklyn Paper shed light on the park's delays (caused, believe it or not, by a not-up-to-code railing) and reported that the bit of open space would indeed open soon. Soon apparently meant really soon, because over the weekend blogger Miss Heather posted a bunch of photos of what looks to be an open park, and she's not the fence-jumping type. Finally, Greenpointers can fully take advantage of scenic Newtown Creek! (And the skyline in the background ain't too bad either, we guess).
