An electric preservation battle is brewing out on Long Island, where mad scientist Nikola Tesla's Wardenclyffe?his last surviving workplace, complete with big spooky tower and a lab designed by Stanford White?is for sale and threatened with demolition. The 16-acre site in Shoreham is on the market for $1.65 million and can be delivered "fully cleared and level." Teslaheads want to turn the site into a museum dedicated to Thomas Edison's nemesis.
