On the Racked: Gourmet Garage in on UWS, Crunch Hurts

New, 2 comments

The latest from Racked, covering shopping and retail from the sidewalks up.

1) Upper West Side: And now, some neighborhood GroceryWire. It seems the former Balducci's on West 66th (between Broadway and Amsterdam) is coming back to life as a Gourmet Garage (above). The UWS will not want for crusty bread, artisanal cheeses, fresh seafood and mounds of glossy produce.

2) Meatpacking: Seems boutique Operations is, um, officially no longer operating.

3) NYC: Racked readers engage in vigorous, pulse-pounding debate about the Crunch Gyms bankruptcy. Sample critique: "Crunch overexpanded and suffers from the 'Duane Reade Syndrome': One on almost every corner."
