When the City Council approved developer Two Trees' controversial Dock Street Dumbo condo building yesterday, it also signed the death certificate for 38 Water Street, the current location (since 2001) of the popular St. Ann's Warehouse theater. The building falls within Dock Street's footprint, and the theater's artistic director says Two Trees will help St. Ann's find a new space after its two remaining seasons on Water Street run out.
