What was once a rubble-strewn Greenwich Village lot was cleared last year to make way for a new building outfitted in sandstone and divided into three private townhouses. The project, designed by 1100 Architect and given the regal name of the Townhomes of Downing Street, is now climbing into view. A special Curbed tipster sends along some photos of the construction site near Bedford Street and adds, "It's shocking to see since this has been an empty lot for years and years." So far only one of the homes is listed: 26 Downing Street, with over 6,500 square feet of space and a price tag of $16.95 million. Pricey, but hey, it's #1 in a limited-edition set!
