The latest from Racked, covering shopping and retail from the sidewalks up.
1) Chelsea: The hotly-anticipated Comme des Garçons BLACK pop-up shop will open Monday at Tenth Avenue and 17th Street, right under the High Line. It might be a weird fit, Racked writes: "Heaven knows we love all things High Line, but we can't quite picture gothy BLACK-outfitted shoppers drifting about the flowers in the park. Perhaps they'll just congregate below."
2) West Village: The dismantling of the Kim's empire continues with news that Kim's Video store at 89 Christopher Street plans to close at the end of the month. The shop is currently in the throes of a final sale.
3) Williamsburg: After a brief hiatus, gonzo newsletter author Rob Byrn has returned to penning the e-mail blasts from Burg store The Shoe Market. A sample: "I mean, I'm a boy and I'm stupid and I all I can think about is hand grenades and wanting to play football and throw mudpies at girls, but Judi Rosen's shit is sexy as hell."
