Following the City Planning Commission's approval of the Coney Island rezoning yesterday, developer Joe Sitt (who owns 10.5 acres of land the city needs for its redevelopment plan) ripped the plan anew in an interview with the Brooklyn Paper. He denies he's holding out just to milk a higher price out of the city, and says, "Coney Island was left for dead before we got involved." (City Planning boss Amanda Burden fires back with some shots of her own.) While Sitt pushes his own redevelopment plan, the rezoning next heads to the City Council. [BK Paper]
