Yesterday our friends at Eater let us know that a website for Grand Park, a tapas joint that restaurateur Jesse Hartman hopes to bring to 365 Grand Street on the Lower East Side, has gone live. Why does this interest us? Because Hartman, who has been battling with Community Board 3 and some residents of the nearby Seward Park co-op complex (which happens to own the restaurant space) over a liquor license, made an interesting pledge regarding how to control noise from the restaurant's back patio. Hartman told CB3 back in May that he planned on enclosing the outdoor space. "Picture a Frank Lloyd Wright style wood beam structure with thick sound dampening glass," he explained. The Grand Park website has renderings of the design, and while we're not quite looking at Fallingwater, is it a worthy Wright tribute?
