Former punk photographer Patty Heffley has been drying her laundry on her West 20th Street fire escape since moving into her now $841-a-month loft in 1978, but now High Line visitors can see her underwear. No problem, now she's staging the laundry in creative ways, stringing up goofy items and conducting evening performances with friends dubbed the High Line Park Renegade Cabaret. If you see her outdoor lanterns lit, it means something will happen when the sun goes down. [NYT]
