What does $37.5 million get you nowadays? Pretty much anything you damn well please, and in the case of one anonymous condo buyer, that happened to be an 8,300-square-foot 78th floor penthouse in Columbus Circle's Time Warner Center. The deal closed last week, and it's the biggest in Manhattan in nearly a year, Max Abelson reports. Hooray, all is well! Eh, not quite. After all, the four-bedroom apartment (with a red-lacquered corner library!) was the most expensive listing in New York when it hit the market in November for $65 million, and its most recent asking price was $49 million. Still, the previous owner bought the place for $25 million in 2005, so he's probably not complaining about the "low" $4,518 he got for each square foot. As for the apartment itself, which kind of looks italicized, we're digging the pair of bathrooms off the gym. His and Hers locker rooms?
