The owners of Tribeca's Cosmopolitan Hotel took their plan to replace a two-story building next door at West Broadway and Reade Street with a six-story hotel extension in its place to the Landmarks Preservation Commission, which had some concerns but looks like it'll eventually allow the new building. Currently, the design calls for the add-on to be topped with matte metal panels, and an all-glass retail space at ground level. The LPC wasn't feeling the glass thing. [Tribeca Trib; previously]
