In sharp contrast to Sheldon Silver's recent comments that a consensus on the two not-yet-started World Trade Center towers is building, the Times' Charles Bagli reports that developer Larry Silverstein and Port Authority officials remain just as far apart as ever. Silverstein wants the PA to guarantee over $3 billion in financing for WTC 2 and WTC 3, but the most recent proposal from Silverstein and the city "got a lukewarm reception" yesterday.
