Notice any large windmill fragments sneaking into Manhattan aboard flatbed trucks Saturday night? Fear not, it was just a bit of Dutch starchitecture, and it comes in peace! The New Amsterdam Pavilion, the tourist-welcoming structure at the heart of the new outdoor living room in Battery Park commemorating the 400th anniversary of the Dutch landing in Manhattan, has stormed our shores. Designed by UNStudio's Ben van Berkel, the pavilion?with an LED facade that will be the latest in the city's expanding supply of crazy light shows?will be unveiled on September 9. Start shining those clogs!
