Bowery's Shelter-to-Sushi Conversion Comes in Peace

Perhaps sensing that the residents of and around the Bowery have been through a lot lately, the owners of upscale sushi den/nightclub Koi have decided to hold a neighborhood meet-and-greet before taking their plans for 347 Bowery to Community Board 3, EV Grieve reports. Surprisingly, the building rendering appears largely unchanged from 347 Bowery's current look as a shuttered Salvation Army shelter. Some serious design chops, those do-gooders. Who knew?
