Not-So-Plein Battery Park Pavilion Getting Planted

New, 5 comments

It came, we saw, it conquered...the hearts and minds of Curbed tipsters, who can't seem to get enough of Lower Manhattan's new sensation: The Ben van Berkel-designed New Amsterdam Plein & Pavilion! Maybe we underestimated the allure of Battery Park's coming-soon Dutch flower, or maybe people are just excited to see any bit of ambitious architecture take shape nowadays, no matter how small or touristy. The Pavilion, which actually came from Virginia, is being assembled along with a 5,000-square-foot paved platform (the "Plein"). Another tipster-submitted shot straight from the Dutch to your dome after the jump.
