Eater Tastings: Kogi Calls it Off, Momofuku Slushies, More!

New, 2 comments

This week's top dish from Eater, Curbed's restaurant, bar, and nightlife blog...

1) Tribeca, but really, Everywhere: At last night's Eater/92YTribeca panel on life after Top Chef, Season 1 contestant Lee Anne Wong dropped the bombshell that LA Korean taco truck sensation Kogi will not?repeat, will not?be making the jump to NYC anytime soon. That sound you hear is a thousand Midtown lunchers' hearts shattering at once.

2) East Village: Now that we need to drown our Kogi sorrows, David Chang and the Momoverse have come to our aid. Momofuku Ssam Bar is launching late night cocktail service from midnight until 2 a.m., after the kitchen has closed. There will be slushies. Finally, South Beach's Wet Willie's makes it into Manhattan upscale dining!

3) Meatpacking District: Is the brand new Standard Grill already unleashing some MePa attitude on High Liners and others just looking for a cool summer cocktail? According to one complainer, yes!
