1) Herald Square: Banner day in the shopping kingdom today, amigos. That's because Manhattan's first JC Penney is soft-opening in the Manhattan Mall. Racked's got a sneak photogallery preview of all the fun including a full-size Sephora.
2) Midtown: Gap is keeping things hopping on Fifth Avenue, converting the pop-up space next to its flagship store from an insta-yoga studio into a Product (Red) Gallery. Tourists rejoice!
3) Soho: The closing of Detour, one of the nabe's first fashion establishments, would be soul-crushing enough, but good God, they're selling the fixtures, too.
