Much like in South Williamsburg (which won a brief filming ban), Greenpoint's industrial and old-school charms have made it a popular choice for movie shoots, and residents have had it up to here with the closed streets and lack of parking. Blame fancy real estate, a location scout tells the Post: "A lot of people who come to film the city want to see gritty New York, not places that could be mistaken for Toronto. Neighborhoods like SoHo and TriBeCa used to be more industrial. Now they're rows of high-end retail shops." [NYP]
