The scaffolding is finally down at Greenpoint's Pencil Factory condo conversion, and a special Curbed operative sends along the above photograph and this note: "The true hideousness of this 'complex' needs to be seen to be truly believed. What's more, the on-again/off-again homeless encampment across the street only adds to the ambiance/scenery/character." Also, per our operative, the sales office has yet to reopen.
