It's a morning of progress at The Freedom Tower One World Trade Center, where the biggest steel beams to date are being hoisted into place. Per an email to Curbed from the Port Authority, "The 24 jumbo columns will allow the initial floors of the tower to be built out. Each column weighs approximately 70 tons and each is approximately 60 foot long." The beams are being swung into place by a new crane assembled on site over the weekend, a process chronicled in video. People, it's all happening. Okay, mostly happening. Hey, we'll take it.
