PriceSpotter Big Reveal: Carnegie Hill Walk-Up

New, 9 comments

And now, the results of yesterday's PriceSpotter asking price guessing game...

Location: 70 East 93rd St.
Asking: $749,000
The bedroom's too small! There are stairs to walk up! The bathroom's too far! This morning, commenter Sai Baba summed up his thoughts thusly, "I wouldn't take it if you gave it to me for free if I had to pay that maintenance for it, sorry. I would take it off your hands for five years' maintenance, so I bid negative $75,000. Yes, I will take it off their hands for $75,000 even though I would probably regret it later." Wow, we were kinda digging it. Despite the hating, there were guesses on the high side, too (see, e.g., "I must be living in the past, but this place looks pretty nice to me - I think $899,000's about right."). Even Sai Baba came around some, registering a guess $1k over the asking price just minutes after putting in his seller-pays bid.
