WTC?The shit-talking down at the World Trade Center, such as in today's dueling press releases, is getting more varied. A tipster sends in the above photo of some Port Authority signage along West Street that suddenly seems a bit poorly placed. Commentary from some construction types? [CurbedWire Inbox]
FINANCIAL DISTRICT?Amenities at luxury rental building 20 Exchange Place include, according to its website, a 24-hour doorman, concierge service and state-of-the-art fitness center. Fancy! Just...don't expect good plumbing. A tipster writes: "I am a tenant at 20 Exchange Place. In this so-called 'luxury' building (for which I pay nearly $3,500/month for a 1BR) the management is unable to provide something as basic as a functioning ice-maker in my refrigerator. See exchange below.... Total nonsense!!"
First, the complaint:
I inquired today with the front desk about having the ice-maker in my freezer repaired (it does not produce ice) and they indicated that this service request would not be completed due to some issue with water lines. This is not acceptable. It is not unreasonable to expect to have a fully functioning refrigerator, which includes having a working ice-machine in the freezer. Please make the necessary arrangements with the maintenance so that this service request can be completed in a timely fashion.
Then, the response from building management:I wanted to make sure we are on the same page. Are you speaking about the freezer or the ice maker that is on the refrigerator door? If it’s the ice maker that is on the refrigerator door then unfortunately we do not have the proper plumbing for it to work. [CurbedWire Inbox]
