Without massaging the bald head of a Pritzker Prize-winning French starchitect? Unclear. But seriously, what gives here? According to the complicated maze of paperwork of which we are not qualified to decipher (we read at a 3rd Grade level), the buyer is Christopher Rokos?this guy, perhaps?who paid $12.5 million for Unit #29 at 40 Mercer back in 2007. The seller of #2, which weighs in at 2,476 square feet and 3BRs, paid $4.5 million for the luxury condo, also in '07, which would make this a, uh, slight loss.
