And now, the latest from Racked, covering shopping and retail from the sidewalks up.
1) Upper West Side: After striking out at Columbus Circle and on the Bowery, Whole Foods has finally managed to get a wine store up and running at its new location at Columbus Avenue and 100th Street, in the massive Columbus Square project. Meanwhile, the food part (sneak peek!) opens Thursday.
2) West Village: Racked salutes French luxury brand LTJ Arthur (sleepwear, swimwear, underthings) for having "mercifully rescued the dilapidated storefront at the corner of Bleecker and Christopher Streets." The space was once Bleecker's Corner Grocery and it's in a building that dates all the way back to 1802.
3) Soho: Streetwear switcheroo! Last year the Stüssy flagship on Wooster Street closed, but the throwback brand is re-opening in the far smaller 176 Spring Street, the longtime home (20 years!) of Union NYC. They share the same owner.
