One of the city's most bizarre real estate feuds is coming to an end, as the new owner of the brownstone at 19-21 Beekman Place has pledged to tear down the two-story "spite wall" that blocks river views from the Paul Rudolph-designed townhouse next door. The brownstone's previous owner had put the wall up in 2001 after a spat over an air conditioner escalated into brick-hurling, feces-flinging all-out war. The wall survived a legal challenge, but the owner died in 2007 and his estate sold the house for $10.6 million (it was once listed for $25M). [NYT]
