The jigsaw puzzle of metal and glass at 441 East 57th Street, a direct attack on Tina Brown's garden launched by the developers/architects/futurists at FLAnk, has lost the coverings and announced itself to all those old-fashioned neighbors near Sutton Place. The 15-story building lowered prices and did a little striptease earlier this summer to titillate its affluent audience. Did it work? Well, it appears four of the seven stacked "townhouses" are still available. OK, enough about the boring business stuff. A 150-year-old townhouse was leveled to make way for this sliver. Worth it?
