While opinions on the new Barclays Center design have been mixed, the city's Independent Budget Office decided to review not the architecture, but the money-making potential. The IBO reports the arena will be a net loss to the city of $40 million over 30 years. In 2005 the IBO said the city would make money on the arena, but subsidies have grown since then. The IBO's report says the state and the MTA would score some Net (heh, get it?) gain. [City Room]
