Floorplan Porn: Gisele's West Village Tag Team

New, 4 comments

West Village property baron Gisele Bundchen (oh, she's famous for something else?) might be looking to cash out of the neighborhood in one fell swoop, but only if it's kept quiet. Late yesterday the Observer's Max Abelson reported that Gisele had listed her townhouse at 42 Barrow Street through broker Raphael De Niro for $13.95 million. An hour after Abelson contacted De Niro for comment, the listing was pulled. Gisele bought the house in 2005 for just $5.8 million. Maybe the Brady Bunch is looking to settle down in Tom's Time Warner Center pad? Well, there's also the West 11th Street triplex penthouse that Gisele struggled so mightily to sell before it was mercifully yanked off the market in 2008. Actually, that one appears to be up for grabs, too!

Take a look at StreetEasy's records for 374 West 11th Street and you'll notice that Gisele's triplex was also listed yesterday before it too was suddenly pulled. Here's the shocker: After trying to fetch $10.9 million and then $7.9 million for the 2BR, 2.5BA, hammock-and-hot-tub-loaded condo way back when the market was sizzling, the asking price slapped on the listing yesterday was just $4.5 million. That may be a huge PriceChop, but the price still comes in at $2,647/sf?if it's actually on the market, of course. You'll have to decipher her Blue Steel stare to figure out the real truth.
