CurbedWire: Chelsea Enclave Sold Something, Construction Costs Get Cheaper

New, 2 comments

CHELSEA?Ladies and gentlemen, this just in. Apartment 3B at the Chelsea Enclave has sold. We know this because Corcoran Sunshine has sent out an e-mail alerting people to the fact that Apartment 3B has sold. Writes a tipster, "Do you think they'll send me an email every time a unit sells?" Actually, wouldn't that be kind of awesome? There are currently seven other units in contract according to StreetEasy, so we'll be expecting some more e-mails. [CurbedWire Inbox]

NYC?According to a new report by the New York Building Congress, "there is no doubt that building in New York City is less expensive today than it was a year ago." Hey, just in time for, uh, the stalling out of most major construction projects! The report says "hard construction costs (defined as physical costs of construction such as materials and labor) for offices and banks have declined 10 percent between 2008 and 2009, while apartment construction hard costs have declined 9 percent over that period."
