The Empire State Development Corporation (ESDC) voted today to approve the revised Atlantic Yards General Project Plan. In a statement, developer Bruce Ratner said, "Today's vote means that the Atlantic Yards project can move forward. We now need to work aggressively to break ground by the end of the year. We look forward to achieving these goals." In a press release, anti-AY group Develop Don't Destroy Brooklyn said another time-killing lawsuit against the ESDC and Atlantic Yards is on the way, "because the agency is required by law to undertake a Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS), but did not."
