Reuters reports that Robert De Niro and Spike Lee are developing a drama for Showtime called "Alphaville," chronicling Alphabet City in a time before rooftop swimming pools and $12 cocktails: "Set during the 1980s, the drama will re-create the neighborhood's mix of struggling artists and musicians living alongside Puerto Rican and black families."
