East Village's 'Summer of Pink Shirts'

New, 18 comments

Triggered by the late May sighting of pink-sweatered dandy strolling into infamous East Village dive Mars Bar, blogger EV Grieve decided to keep tabs on the burgeoning pink menace. It turns out that the East Village was crawling with pink shirts all summer, and he is not pleased: "In one week, I spotted 34 men wearing pink shirts out and about -- drinking at bars, waiting in line for pizza, walking across the Bowery. Now I don't care what anyone wears. You like pink? That's fine. What I do mind is the sense of entitlement that seems to come with the person wearing the pink shirt." [EV Grieve]
