On the Block: Cantankerous Landlord's Heights House

New, 4 comments

A Curbed tipster points us to the upcoming auctions schedule for the Kings County Public Administrator. Up for auction October 6 is this 25-foot-wide carriage house at 280 Hicks Street in the Brooklyn Heights Historic District. It's the estate of one Alfred Palmer, the "eccentric and cantankerous" former owner of nearby 135 Joralemon Street, who nearly faced a demolition by neglect charge before selling the building. Palmer's 2,875-square-foot house can be yours with a starting bid of $2 million -- not exactly a fire sale. But it does have an attached two-car garage.
