Near the "Broadway Triangle" on the East Williamsburg/Bushwick border, another controversial megadevelopment is advancing through the rezoning process. It's the second phase of the redevelopment of the old Rheingold Brewery, and the plan is for 947 apartments in 10 buildings up to eight stories tall. Says one local critic: "We call it putting 20 pounds of shit in a 10-pound bag," which is actually a good description of what Rheingold tastes like. Plans for the proposal are up on the architects' website. [NYP]
